dear diary,
OK! breathing heavily..... and I was driving through a school when on a second thought, I got in for lots of reasons best known to me..lately, the hunger and urge to do something more keeps increasing and I am seriously on the look out, paying attention..
To my greatest shock, the secondary school did not have a photocopying machine! now hello, this school is in Port Harcourt not in my village, a secondary school not even a primary school, located on the road to the University of Port Harcourt, students were sent out to do photocopying, hence been exposed to the probability of missing classes and other important stuff that could happen in school and the big questions like, where do we go from here? when are the children gonna be taken a bit more seriously? why are our leaders, elected and appointed too busy fighting for relevance and power when the easiest way to be relevant and powerful is to show Love through works? and more popped outta my head! I am not a supporter of any group in particular but if someone is elected or appointed, he/she should be respected and given the benefit of doubt especially when he/she appears to have a plan and is working. Most of our secondary schools are in a mess apart from the private schools and this is not cool not even in the simplest form.
I was there and students were queried for not bringing their cutlasses and brooms etc and were asked to leave without getting certain benefits like school cardigan and more... SERIOUSLY?? very nice to come down and out of your world to really see and know what people go through. It was disheartening and thought provoking to watch them, so sad and all I could was weep in my heart and pray and hope things would change, I wished things could change by the snapping of my fingers and I truly must make a change soon which is one thing i wanna achieve by writing this piece, the word of God says, write the vision and make it plain.. so help me God.
